This time, 1ºESO will travel to a new parallel world... Pandora, where any kind of living creature is respected and everybody protects the natural circle of life. But Pandora is in danger... some humans are determined to alter this balance and want to destroy this peaceful land... but WHY?









1. Watch the entire film. Stop several times and repeat the part of script (written underneath)

@ Play the scene: "Star Wars: The return of the Jedi"


This time, we'll travel to a classic among the most important sagas of the 80`s: "Star Wars, The Return of the Jedi" . Before you play the scene do the following activities in order to understand the main terms of the best creation of Georges Lucas:

1. Do a family tree of Luke Skywalker's family starting by his grandmother, Padmé Amidala.

2. With the help of this site, write a few lines to explain the plot of the story, the context where the movie take place, mainly the reasons why the dark side and a group of rebels are fighting.

@Play the scene: "Dead poets society"

This time, our scene has been selected from one of the most important American movies in the late 80's. Its name is "Dead Poets Society" (1989), a drama film starred by Robin Williams. Set at the conservative and aristocraticWelton Academy in the northeast United States in 1959, it tells the story of an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry.

1. Whatch the movie and pay attention to min. 00:45:38 to min. 00:46 when Neil enters his room while Tood is trying to write a poem.

@ Play the scene (Kung Fu Panda)


This time, we'll travel to the world of animation by Dreamworks: "Kung Fu Panda" 
It is a 2008 American computer-animated martial arts comedy whose plt revolves around a bumbling panda named Po who aspires to be a kung fu master

1. Watch the movie and focus on min. 00:23:00 to 00:23:55 where Panda must put his Kung fu skills to the test before his master and colleagues.

2. Now have a look to the part of the scrib and repeat with your classmate.

@ Play the scene: "Casablanca"





This time, we'll travel to the American black and white cinema of the 40's: "Casablanca" . Before you play the scene (min. 00:17:26 to 00:18:12 in the original film), follow these recommendations:




1. This romantic drama happens at a time of wars in Europe and it has a historical background that first, we have to study to understand. Answer these questions:

a. Where is Casablanca on a map? Was it a colony in the 40's? Who did it belong to?
b. What was happening in Europe at that time?
c. Who was "Vichy" and what did his regime consist in?
d. What kind of refugees used to wait in Casablanca for a chance to reach the still neutral country of the USA?

2.  Now have a look to the script and repeat (this part of the film is between min. 00:17:26 and 00:18:12)



3. Remember some of the difficult vocabulary that appears on the dialogue. Are the following definitions right or wrong? Correct the wrong ones:

a. to spill:   triunfar, tener éxito en algo
b. a word of advice:   un consejo
c. to furnish:   derramar (soltar un secreto en este caso)
d. to succeed in:   proporcionar
e. duty:   deber

4. Now PLAY THE SCENE with your classmate. See the example...

This time, we'll travel to the magic world of Walt Disney by means of one of its best mouvies for kids: "The Lion King" (1994). Have you ever watched it? I'm sure yes! Follow the instructions below, increase your vocabulary with the expressions used by Mufasa when scolding his son and PLAY THE SCENE!:

2. Scroll down the script and spot the different underlined expressions, what do they mean?
